Crazy World – City of York Score Own Goal
I’ve been thinking of adding a collection of blog posts about the crazy world we live in, political correctness gone mad etc.
Just in time to feature as the first post City of York Council managed to put a fence right through the middle of some goal posts in a park on the pitch in Heworth, near York. Dave Meigh, the spokesman from the council managed to show a self deprecating sense of humour about the whole thing with the statement “Failure to relocate the goalposts is a real own goal”
Parish council clerk Malcolm Sunderland announced the amusing image was only temporary and the plan had always been to erect the fence along the line of the old pitch to create additional play space for the area behind it. No mention of taking the fence though!
