Stolen Kiss

This is one my favourite poems, I think it goes a long way to describing love and that first realisation that someone you least expected is the person you want the most even better still they want you to. It was about four months buildup to the kiss described in this poem. I can still remember so well today.

Another moment’s hesitation,
yet more chances lost,
then I looked into your eyes,
I knew it just had to be.

The gentlest touch of our lips,
a hungry look in those eyes,
holding my gaze so tightly,
making the room fade away.

One kiss could never be,
as your arms surrounded me,
you kiss me this time,
setting the captive free.

Neither of us could let go,
until the world returned,
and that was the end,
of another perfect moment.

No one can possibly tell,
what tomorrow can bring,
will they ever surrender,
and let the inevitable be.

Can you ever stop love,
like the tide with a broom,
since a stolen kiss,
Is where it all begins.
