Another Friday Night

It’s been about two months,
Can’t remember how many days,
But I know it’s fifty four.
Another Friday night spent alone,
Meant to be with someone new,
Pretending I don’t love you anymore.
Now the lights are out it’s dark,
The shadows are keeping me company,
And I’m unable to tell a lie.
As hours drift by without sleep,
Not releasing me from the pain,
At four am I begin to cry.
When the dawn chorus sing their song,
I wearily face yet another day,
Under a slowly rising sun.
You are so very beautiful,
So very special to me,
You where the one.
